Postcard Project Update

Now you can see the postcards we have received in the mail.
Three are from New South Wales in Australia.
Two are from Hawaii.
One is from Seattle in the USA.
One is from the Shetland Islands, north of Scotland.
One is from Invercargill in the south of the South Island of New Zealand.

Dear Room 2,

Hi from New Brunswick, Canada! My Grade 4 class is a part of the Postcard project too. We love when we get mail from our global peers. We love blogging and making connections with others from around the world. I found your blog on Twitter. Isn't #comments4kids great. :)

Great postcard display! I love how you connected each card to their place in the world. We have received 4 postcards so far...but we have sent out 6 new ones yesterday, so we are excited to receive the return ones. We will send one to your class next week. Keep up the good work.

I agree with Mrs Webb-Scheers, your display is really informative. I am having a big push on postcards and I think one of our cards is aiming at your school.if we get a postcard in the post, it sends a little buzz around the office. Children keep coming along to write a card. I like the thought of all the mail that will have passed through just one box, over years and years.
I wonder if the postcard project will grow and grow? I hope so.

Dear room two,
I’m from Harston. We don’t have any local beaches nearby.
We live in the country side. We are surrounded with paddocks.
Do you have a local farm?

Hi Georgia,
Thanks for your comment.
We live in a rural area and some of the children in our class live on farms, or small blocks with a few cattle.
We have a trip of about 30 minutes to get to the beach. If you look on a map of New Zealand and look for Warkworth, you will see that the North Island is very narrow where we are, so no-one is too far from a beach.
