Today we had a close look at a yellow tail fish using a digital microscope. We checked it out to see if it had all the things a fish has to have to be a fish. Gills? Yes. Fins? Yes. A backbone? Yes, as far as we could tell from the outside. Scales? (most fish have these, but not all) Yes.

Awesome fish scale guys, I wonder what else would look good under the microscope, maybe their eyes or fins, I wonder if you get an eel would you see through all the slime? Good work!
I never thought a fish scale could be so interesting. I just know I don't like finding them in my fish pie!
I wonder if you have had a chance to look at different types of crystals under the microscope?
