What is food? Part 2
Today we looked in our class dictionaries to find the word food. This is what it said:
food
anything that you eat to keep you alive and to help you grow
Does this answer our question? Do we understand the answer?
Yes it does. The dictionary was a good place for us to look to find the answer to this question.

What is food?
To answer this question we could: go on the internet, look in a dictionary, find some food, ask an expert, ask our parents, talk about it together, ask other people in the school.
This is what we found when we used Google and searched :"What is food?"
- any substance that can be metabolized by an animal to give energy and build tissue
- any solid substance (as opposed to liquid) that is used as a source of nourishment; "food and drink"
- anything that provides mental stimulus for thinking
Grifin said, "But Ms Donnell, I know the answer. It's a billion atoms, 'cos everything is made out of atoms."
Ms Donnell said, "My goodness, Grifin. Now you're making me think of more questions. Let's go and do some PMP while we think about this some more."
Tomorrow we'll try out some of the other ways we could find the answer to this question.
